Alissa is an award winning Sydney based designer that specialises in books and book covers.
She has worked in-house at Allen & Unwin and Penguin Random House before starting her own studio.
In 2015 she won the Australian Book Designer's Association Award for Young Designer of the Year, and has won further awards since including best designed Independent Book (2016) and best designed Commercial Fiction Cover (2018). She has also had her work recognised by The Type Directors Club USA.
In 2018 she was included on the Forbes 30 under 30 list in the arts category.
In 2019, she illustrated her own series of children’s picture books, published by Pan Macmillan Australia, titled I Love My Mum Because and I Love My Dad Because. These are also due to be published in the USA in 2021 through Penguin Books USA.
As well as designing, Alissa occasionally lectures on Book Design at the University of Technology, Sydney.
She spends a lot of her spare time eating gelato and hanging out with her chocolate Labrador Chester.
